Objectives  
Nowadays, Cloud Technology is one of the hottest topics in the ICT sector. It simplifies the ICT resources management by SME or even Corporations. In addition, it provides an unprecedented business potential for the industry particularly in the local ICT industry.

The Informatics and Control Technologies section of the IET Hong Kong is taking an initiative in organizing its flag-ship technical seminar, the "ICT Conference 2012 - Cloud Technology", to provide a forum for the government officials, university researchers, and key industry professionals to share with their fellow colleagues on the government policy, the latest development and applications, as well as the opportunities and threats in the Cloud Technology area.

Mr Victor LAM
Mr Victor LAM has provided IT service to various government departments. He was the project manager of the Air Cargo Clearance System in preparation for the opening of the Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok in 1997-98. In 1998-2001, he completed a review on the ".hk" domain name administration regime and facilitated the establishment of the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation. He assumed the position of Chief Systems Manager (Human Resources) of the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer in 2002-05 to take forward a series of cultural and organisational change programmes of the Office. He took up the Assistant Government Chief Information Officer position in 2006 to help government departments transform their businesses through IT. Currently he is the Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Consulting and Operations) responsible for developing and implementing the Digital 21 Strategy, the blueprint for the development of information and communications technology in Hong Kong.

WONG Kam Fai, MH
Professor WONG Kam Fai, MH obtained his PhD from Edinburgh University, Scotland, in 1987. After his PhD, he has performed research in Heriot-Watt University (Scotland), UniSys (Scotland) and ECRC (Germany). At present he is the Associate Dean (External Affairs) of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, and Director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CINTEC), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). His research interest centers on Chinese computing, opinion mining and information retrieval. He has published over 200 technical papers in these areas in various international journals and conferences and books. He is a fellow of BCS, HKIE and IET; and a member of the ACM, CLCS, and IEEE-CS. He is very active in professional activities in Hong Kong. He is the president of HK IT Joint Council (HKITJC), and the Founding Chairman of the Bridging Digital Divide in China (HK) Charity Foundation. Also, he serves as the Chairman, Organisation Committee, 2012 HK ICT Awards and non-official member, Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee, HKSAR. He was awarded the Medal of Honour (MH) by the HKSAR Government in 2011 for his contribution in IT development in Hong Kong.

Ir Dr Hon Samson
TAM Wai-ho, JP
Ir Dr Hon Samson TAM Wai-ho, JP is a home-grown IT man with an international orientation, with a bachelor degree from CUHK and a doctorate from Hong Kong Polytechnic. In 1989, at age 24, he successfully launched his first invention. By 1993, Samson's company, with him as Chairman, was listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Samson himself was named one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons" in year 1997. In June 2008, in recognition of his service and leadership in technology and the community, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by HKUST, the leading technological university in Asia. He was successfully elected to be the Legislative Councilor (ITFC) in September 2008. He is also actively pushing the Government to set up the Innovation and Technology Bureau, to propel development of the local science and technology and digital creative industry.

Mr Raymond LEE
Mr. Raymond LEE is the Lead Architect of IBM's SmartCloud iNotes services. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin and a Master degree in Computer Science from UCLA. He is responsible for the architecture of iNotes's backend software focusing on scalability, security and availability of large-scale SaaS deployment. Raymond's contribution extends to infrastructure and operational aspects of iNotes's messaging services. In 2000, Raymond became the Director of Core Software at Outblaze where he played a leading role in offering SaaS Internet messaging solutions to over 50 millions of web users all over the world.

Mr Joseph AU YEUNG
Mr Joseph AU YEUNG is Vice President, PCCW Solutions Limited. He has over 20 years' experiences in ICT industry and is currently responsible for the cloud-based service development of PCCW Solutions. Under his leadership, PCCW Solutions has already introduced multiple IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions for the Hong Kong and China markets. Besides holding a Master Degree in Computer Science, he is also a certified PMP, ITSM and CISSP.

Mr Alan KAN KY
Mr Alan KAN obtained academic qualification of the Society of Engineers and registered as Professional Engineer (UK) in 1978, and was awarded master degree in business administration at the University of East Asia in 1987. He is the life member of Hong Kong Computer Society since 2007. He empowers with over forty years of experience in the field of electronics and information technology. Alan established his own company for electronic components, which is named Clever Motion Industries Limited. In 2000, Clever Motion Technology Limited was founded to develop computer software. Alan rides on Linux and open source software to develop business applications on e-form, workflow and data management. Within a decade, Alan established Cloud Business Applications Limited on cloud services. Since 2006 until present, Alan has been elected as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Linux Industry Association (HKLIA).

Mr Henry ZHANG Hongbin
Mr. Henry ZHANG is the Marketing Director of Cloud Computing, where he is responsible for managing Cloud portfolio, requirements, solutions, and go to market strategy of global markets, in terms of Huawei Cloud Computing, which include Servers, VDI, Convergence Infrastructure, Appliance, Big Data, etc.

Henry has extensive experience ICT in both emerging and developed markets around the globe, including throughout China, Europe, Asia Pacific, the United States, and Latin America.

Henry began his career in the telecom industry as R&D engineer, researcher, product manager, and marketing director, which includes SS7 signaling, switching, broadband, as well as IMS, PS and SAE.

From 2010, Henry moves to Cloud Computing and IT area, leads several IT product s, and participates lots of industrial events.

Ir Dr PT HO
Ir Dr PT HO is the Deputy Director of IT Services of The University of Hong Kong (HKU). For over thirty years, he has contributed to the continuous advancements of the University's vast IT services for supporting the institution's teaching, learning, research and administration. Specifically, he was the leader in the planning and development of a number of strategic IT initiatives of the University, such as the HKU Electronic Services Delivery, HKU Portal, Web-based ERP applications, High-Performance and Grid Computing, Bioinformatics facilities, e-Learning systems, Campus Network/Internet Infrastructure, WiFi Campus, ITIL Services Management practices, Institutional Information Security measures and standards, Cloud Computing facilities, etc. For over 20 years since early 1990's, PT had been a key member of the JUCC (Joint Universities Computer Centre) Network Task Force and played an instrumental role in continuing the advancement of the Hong Kong Academic and Research Network (HARNET). In year 2007/08, he was Chairman of the Steering Committee and Director of JUCC.

PT is Vice President of the Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council, Honorary Treasurer of Hong Kong Next Generation Internet Society (HKNGIS), Secretary of Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN), and Member of the Discipline Advisory Panel (Information Discipline) of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). At present, he serves as Member of the ICT Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Member of the Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Information Technology Industry Council (HKITIC) of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.

PT is Fellow of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Fellow of British Computer Society, Fellow of Institution of Engineering and Technology, Charted Engineer and Chartered IT Professional; and is a member of the Election Committee (IT Subsector) for electing Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administration RegioníK.

Mr Vincent KWOK
As Director, Technology Solutions of EMC Hong Kong, Vincent Kwok is responsible for managing pre-sales, the consulting practice and professional services in the Hong Kong market.

Joining EMC Hong Kong in 2001, Kwok brought with him extensive knowledge in IT infrastructure gained in leading IT companies. Kwok leads a team of technology professionals to help EMC customers to select, architect, plan, implement and manage the most appropriate and trusted information infrastructure solutions. Kwok is also a high-end storage system expert, and has led several large scale deployments in the financial services and telecommunications sectors.

Prior to EMC, Kwok has had vast experience in business development, product marketing and customer support. He has more than 17 years of business and technical experience in the IT industry, and a proven track record of excellence in leadership by gaining mindshare of customers and partners through working closely with them. Kwok is also a regular speaker at a wide range of industry events, covering many aspects of IT, including Cloud Computing and Big Data.

Kwok holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is also a qualified Professional Engineer in Canada.
